Khartoum Center for Human Rights and Environmental Development (KCHRED)

Khartoum Centre for Human Rights and Environmental Development (KCHRED) was active in Khartoum until spring 2009 when it was banned as a result of the ICC charge against Sudan’s president, Omar el Bashir. KCHRED works to promote human rights, enhance the position of women and strengthen freedom of speech and the independent media’s role. The centre is also very active in relation to environmental protection issues.
