Iraqi family finally safe in their home after 26 years

In 1991, the Headmaster of Alkadhimiya Intermediate School in the Altbar village had his house hit by cluster bombs. The incident was very frightening for Mahmud Yasin Muhammad and his eight family members. Up until now, the danger of war remnants on the roof has made it impossible to reconstruct the house.

When Haj Yasin contacted NPA, our deminers immediately started inspecting the roof where cluster bombs were suspected dropped. We have now finished cleaning the roof, and the house is declared safe.

Finally, Haj Yasin and his family can move around freely in their home without worrying about detonating a bomb. After 26 years, they can start repairing their damaged home.
