How we work
Norwegian People’s Aid works in partnership with local organisations. The goal is to strengthen their capacity and ability to fight for a more just distribution of power and resources in their societies, including between women and men, and on a local, regional and national level. Organisations are important to mobilise people to participate, distribute information, influence public opinion and political decisions.

Norwegian People’s Aid cooperates with organisations that are anchored in their societies, and that share our values. We support them in the cases that engage them. How we cooperate is adjusted to the needs of each partner, and the situation in each country.
Norwegian People’s Aid emphasises: support to the development of our partners’ organisations; each organisation’s capacity (e.g. equality, representation, administration and planning); the role of the organisation in society (e.g. alliances and lobbying); and the ability of the organisation to adapt to changes.
In Norway Norwegian People’s Aid is active as spokesperson in cases that are relevant to, or spring out of our partners’ battles in the countries. We work to influence the public debate and the political sphere in Norway through statements and participation on national and international arenas.
