Development cooperation in Lebanon
The aim of the development and humanitarian work of NPA with the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon is to support the refugees themselves in promoting their rights.
Vulnerable groups as disabled, youth and women are in focus, with support to local organizations working to improve their situation. Important struggles are the struggle to have recognition of the rights of the refugees to eventually return to their homeland after more than 60 years, and while they are staying in Lebanon the struggle for their basic civil rights and rights to basic services, to work and housing.
In the face of lacking crucial services for a refugee population falling outside the system of social services in Lebanon and dependent on the chronically underfunded UN organization UNRWA, NPA also works to provide vocational training for youth, rehabilitation for disabled, and supports efforts to improve the health and environmental conditions in the refugee camps.
