MoU Signing Ceremony with CMAC
On August 3, 2011, Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) Cambodia, represented by Mr. Tang Sun Hao, NPA Country Director, and Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC), represented by H.E. Heng Ratana, CMAC Director-General, signed an MoU to implement a five-month project starting from August 1 to December 31, 2011. The signing ceremony was conducted at CMAC headquarters in Phnom Penh in the presence of local media, including TVs and newspapers.

Following the MOU of partnership between NPA and CMAC on Cluster Munitions Survey that was signed in February, a handover ceremony was held on 25 May in CMAC Head Quarter, Phnom Penh. The new equipment consists of all necessary tools for operations including vehicles, motorbikes and laptop computers that will assist the teams to manage the survey with high performance and qualitative productivity.

Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) has handed over a large sum of IT equipment to the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) in the efforts to empower the institution with information management systems. The handover ceremony was celebrated at CMAA headquarters in Phnom Penh in the presence of local media. NPA has been providing technical, equipment and funding support to this project since 2007.

15 March 2011, the ambassador of Norway to Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar H.E. Katja Chr. Nordgaard and Mr. Erik Svedahl, Minister Counselor visited NPA Cambodia. NPA Country Director, Mr. Tang Sun Hao has given a presentation on NPA’sprogram focusing on support to Cambodian Mine Action Authority (CMAA) with information management,the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC) on cluster munitions survey and NPA’s support to civil society organizations to become relevant actors producing impacts in the process of redistribute of wealth and resources, and political reforms both at the national and provincial levels.
