Mine Action Programme
The programme is implemented in Bosnia & Herzegovina (BiH) and Croatia, with offices in Sarajevo and Benkovac.
Bosnia & Herzegovina
Since 1996, NPA has surveyed 111.2 km2, returned 71.8 km2 to local communities for productive use of the land, destroying 7,901 landmines and 42,344 other pieces of explosive remnants of war (ERW). After examining the results of the Landmine Impact Survey conducted in 2003, NPA decided to focus on the Bosanska Posavina region as this region was most affected by the longterm negative effects of landmines and other explosive remnants of war. more >>
Croatia
NPA is the only NGO accredited by the Croatian authorities to conduct survey and mine clearance in Croatia and works closely
with Croatian authorities as well as with local communities. Since 2001, NPA has surveyed 49 km2, handed back to the local
community
approximately 24 km2 of mine free land and removed and destroyed 1,856 mines, 114 cluster munitions and 4282 other Explosive
Remnants of War (ERW). more >>
