Partnership Development Support

NPA partner staff talk with villagers, Banteay Meanchey province, NW Cambodia

NPA works by establishing close working relationships with each of our partners. We see partnership as a mutual relationship through which complementary resources are shared to enable the partner to fulfil their mission. We focus on strengthening our partner organisations human resource competencies, programme quality and organisational management so that they can better contribute to the empowerment of vulnerable groups.

Partnership Development Support Components

The goal - NPA partners are active, efficient and accountable players in creating a rights-focused society at local and national levels, giving opportunity to vulnerable groups to better control their development process.

Partnership development support focuses on developing partner expertise in research, monitoring and evaluation, and systems management.

Research
NPA provides research support and training to assist partners to develop research tools and methodologies and to analyse research results. From the fuller understanding that research and analysis gives, our partners are able to provide more meaningful development assistance.

Monitoring and Evaluation
Ongoing monitoring and evaluation ensure that a project's progress toward its objectives is measured and that problems are identified and dealt with. NPA helps partners to develop suitable monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure that project managers are supplied with the information they need to maintain a high quality project delivery.

Systems Management
NPA supports its partners in analysing and improving their governance structures and management systems. At the same time NPA's systems management activities work to ensure that our own governance and management systems are effective and accountable. The relationship we establish with a partner is intended to foster transparency, mutual accountability and productive communication.

In all our work with partners NPA's partnership development support aims to support partners in developing organisational cultures that are committed to an active learning process that benefits vulnerable groups. Partners develop competencies that enable them to identify and analyse the needs of target groups and implement programmes that yield maximum benefit.

Within NPA we maintain an internal discussion process and a commitment to ongoing learning that improves our operational efficiency and capacity to learn and strengthens the contribution we can make to our partnerships.
