Norwegian People's Aid Partners in South East Asia

For NPA partnerships with local organizations active in the field is the way forward. It is these local organizations that have the concern, the understanding and the motivation to induce in the target groups an awareness of their rights. NPA partners are working to address the rights of poor, vulnerable people in relation to land and resources and a mine free environment.  Democracy and the right to participate, indigenous people's rights and women's rights are secondary areas of focus.

NPA’s support of local organizations increases the pool of knowledge in the locality and the country as a whole, enabling the partners to undertake ever more complex projects and to progressively take on greater responsibilities.

Experience in the field has convinced NPA, when addressing development projects, that the partnership approach is best suited to encourage the shift from dependence to self-reliance.

Our work is focussed on our thematic areas and partners are chosen from organisations working in these areas.
