RAHDO trains in animal husbandry and organises cow banks in communities affected by landmines in Banteay Meanchey province in northwest Cambodia.
Founded in 1999, RAHDO has supplied over 50 cows to community projects resulting in the birth of over 100 calves. Over 300 people received training in animal husbandry and livestock management.
RAHDO’s main activities are to:
· establish livestock associations and train their agents
· organize community cow bank projects
· train in animal husbandry and livestock management
· integrate basic knowledge about HIV/AIDS prevention, gender issues and democratic governance
· network with other NGOs and government institutions
NPA's Partnership with RAHDO
NPA and RAHDO worked on a wide range of issues, jointly researching, in 2003, cow husbandry and banking. Following this, NPA funded cow bank projects in two communes. NPA assisted RAHDO to develop monitoring tools, working and reporting methodologies and helped to develop management and administrative systems.
