  • System development

Norwegian Peoples Aid works through Partnership
Partnership is understood as a two-way co-operation relationship, the sharing of complementary resources to achieve the mission of the partners. It is practised by co-operating with local partners that have compatible vision and values. The relationship develops through dialogue, mutual trust, openness, as well as by commitment and respect for each other’s integrity and identity rooted in the context of each partner. Hence, there are no standard blue prints for developing partnership. Local conditions and particularities are central to the development of priorities and relationships with partners.

When initiating partnerships with a rights-based focus – there can be elements in the partnership that involves direct funding and/or support to the partner projects.

All activities shall adhere crosscutting to Gender, HIV/AIDS and Environment
There are a lot of critical issues concerning development needed to be taken into account in our planning, partnership agreements and projects. Internationally, and also in the Norwegian national context, there are especially three issues which is highlighted as crucial in any development scheme, that is gender, HIV/AIDS and environment. All activities of NPA shall adhere to the cross cutting issues on Gender , HIV/AIDS and Environment . Cross cutting issues are understood as issues that are used to assess and appraise all partners and projects for their status on the awareness and activities concerning the cross cutting issues. Activities related to the issues are planned together with partners after the appraisal. The activities are initiated by the current status of the partners on these issues, as defined by a standard analysis, and not as an active strategy from NPA.
