Development Programme

NPA covers the following areas in the Development programme:

  • Vocational Training - The Vocational Skills Training Resource Center, established in 1997, conducts a one year training program and offers courses in Tailoring, Tie & Die (Batik), Building/Construction and Carpentary/Joinery.
  • Land & Resource Rights - Land Administration, Conflict Resolution & Community-based Resource Management.
  • Violence Against Women - NPA has identified Violence Against Women (VAW) as a priority area of focus and has a special commitment to combat it, especially in areas of conflict.
  • Media & Civil Society - Media and Civil society involvment in promoting freedom of expression and liberal media legislation.
  • Local Governance & Participation - Aims at supporting CSOs and local government structures to ensure local people participate in policy development for good governance, respect the rule of law, advocate social justice, and individual & group rights.
