Important sectors
NPA's activities have been directed at further improving human and material capacities at the hospital in Las Anod, the principal town of the region. This is the only medical hospital for 200-300 000 people in the surrounding area. The health project includes malaria treatment and anti-cholera campaigns, and NPA is an important partner of the semigovernmental campaign for the eradication of polio. In addition, NPA has supported the establishment of a centre treating tuberculosis at the hospital.  NPA also support awareness programs on the problems concerning female genital mutilation (FGM). A priority for NPA is also to ease the local access to clean water.
