NPA in Lebanon

Norwegian People's Aid became activly involved in Lebanon following the Israeli invation in 1982. The main objective is to improve living standards and the educational level og Palestinian refugees and impoverished Lebanese. The focus is on emergency relief, human rights, physical rehabilitation, vocational training for youth and public health. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NORAD donate funds to this work. NPA is continuing to lobby the international community to find a solution to the refugee problem on the basis of UN Resolution 194.

Victims of cluster munitions in Lebanon

Every day, civilians are killed or wounded by the 300,000 to 500,000 unexploded cluster bomblets that litter Southern Lebanon after the Israeli offensive. A visit to a local hospital unveils endless suffering. NPA is now taking on the task of clearing unexploded cluster munitions in Lebanon, a crucial job to be done before full reconstruction can take place.
