New Directors for NPA`s International work appointed

NPA's new Head of Humanitarian Disarmament, Per Håkon Breivik and Head of Development and Humanitarian Cooperation, Gry Ballestad.

The two international departments of Norwegian People's Aid - Department for Humanitarian Disarmament and Department for Development and Humanitarian Cooperation have both assigned new directors.

Gry Ballestad is appointed new Head of Development and Humanitarian Cooperation. She currently holds the position as Humanitarian Director at Save the Children Norway.

Per Håkon Breivik is appointed new Head of Humanitarian Disarmament, coming from the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) in Iraq, where he has been Deputy Programme Manager.

Gry Ballestad has extensive experience from large humanitarian operations. Her experience from the sector and her background from Save the Children Norway and Norwegian Refugee Council will be important to NPA at a time where strategic challenges lies ahead.

Per Håkon Breivik comes from a central position in the Humanitarian Disarmament sector, at the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) in Iraq, one of the largest humanitarian disarmament operations in the world. Per Håkon has previously held several important positions for NPA internationally and at the headquarter. Having him re-enter NPA will strengthen NPA’s position as a world leader in Humanitarian Disarmament.

Both new directors will take up their new positions at the beginning of January 2019.
