Norwegian People’s Aid Privacy Statement for visitors
Norwegian People’s Aid registers and processes your personal data when you visit our head office at Stortorvet 10, Oslo. This Privacy Statement gives you information on how we process your personal data and what rights you have.
Norwegian People’s Aid is the data controller
Norwegian People’s Aid, through its Secretary General, is responsible for the processing of the personal data.
Processing of Personal Data
“Personal data” is the umbrella term for all information that can be linked to you as an individual. The following are typical information we record about you:

- When you arrive and leave our premises
The information provided and/or collected will be available to the organisation’s reception function and security manager in accordance with the Personal Data Act.
The use of Norwegian People’s Aid’s business systems will generate different types of logs. For example, these data may provide information about when you use our guest network and which websites you have visited through this network.
Our offices at Stortorvet are owned by KLP Eiendom. Their Protection of personal data for visitors’ policy is described on their website. Please note that we use CCTV surveillance to safeguard building security. CCTV surveillance is used to prevent criminal acts such as vandalism, burglary and theft, and is well-marked.
The purpose of the processing
Below are the most important purposes for which your personal data is used. The legal basis for processing your personal data is that we have a legitimate interest in the processing that exceeds any detriment to your privacy.
- We need to secure our business systems and premises and ensure occupational health and safety, and we use log information from reception and access control systems for this.
- We need to fulfil our obligations to the building owner with regard to keeping an overview of who is in our offices at all times.
The data is not used commercially or in any way other than for the specified purpose. Neither are the data shared with other parties.
Storage of personal data
We store your personal data for as short a time as possible and only as long as necessary.
Nevertheless, we will store the data in the event of a special need, such as unwanted incidents at our premises, fire or situations that necessitate evacuation and protection of our employees, visitors and/or premises.
Your rights
You may request more in-depth information about how we process your personal data and you have the right to request access to this data If your personal data is incorrect, you have the right to have it corrected. Personal data that we may not have any legal basis for processing, shall be deleted and you may require such deletion unless we have already done so on our own initiative.
