Testing of remotely piloted aircraft systems with a thermal infrared camera to detect explosive devices at contaminated areas and validation of developed standard operational procedures
Can drones be used as a tool to detect mines and explosives in mine-affected areas?
Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) has conducted operational and technical testing of a remotely piloted aircraft system with longwave infrared sensors, for the purpose of non-technical survey. The aim was to advance initial competencies to the level needed to deploy these new technologies in land release (LR) projects in Iraq and other countries. The tests were conducted by NPA Bosnia and Herzegovina in 7 locations in Montenegro and 9 locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
