Development Cooperation in Zimbabwe
Norwegian People’s Aid is in a partnership with organizations at a local and national level in Zimbabwe, as well as at a regional level in Southern Africa.
The partners represents various interest groups that mobilizes and organizes to meet the socioeconomic and political crises in the country. The work evolves around democratization and a just distribution of resources. NPA supports building and strengthening of people’s organizations. This includes organizational strengthening as a strategy for empowering people and communities to influence conditions under which they live. The work of partners involves lobbying and advocating for an enabling environment for citizens to participate in key national processes such as the constitutional reform process and the right to organize and assemble. More importantly, NPA’s work has also been supporting organization development for partners by strengthening their internal systems and governance structures. This in turn will contribute to partners being better positioned to lobby and engage the state.
