Director General of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) visited Vietnam
Together with representatives from the Norwegian Embassy and the Vietnam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC), the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) Vietnam Programme was honoured to receive a visit from Mr. Bård Vegar Solhjell, the Director General of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) on 10 June 2024 at VNMAC office.
During the meeting, NPA got the opportunity to participate in a discussion of how the joint cooperation between our organisations is furthering the humanitarian mine action work in Vietnam, in support of the local sustainable development plan.
NPA presented programme activities, highlighting our work on the gender and environment protection and one of NPA’s female multi-task teams demonstrated how activities are conducted in the field.
NPA expressed appreciation to the Deputy Director General of VNMAC, Col. Le Quang Hop for the fruitful partnership between NPA and VNMAC as the national mine action authority. We also emphasized our gratitude to the Norwegian Embassy and the Government of Norway for their continued generous support of NPA's programme activities in Vietnam.
